Children who are mildly challenged with various maladies such as autism, cerebral palsy, mongolism, slow learning abilities, etc. are rarely admitted in normal schools. Even if admitted, they get ridiculed by colleagues and teachers who may lose patience with them. For such children, specially trained teachers who can adapt to the child`s pace are required. A special school with such specially skilled educators along with care givers who attend to their other needs is the only solution. Sangopita runs a special school for 23 special students, with a counseling psychologist as its head. The cost of such education is beyond the means of the parents who are from low /middle income group. Sangopita, with its meager resources is also unable to absorb this cost. Your donation will help us to educate a mentally challenged child, which costs Rs. 1,500 per month to educate a child.
